Professional Bio
We are more connected than ever, yet also more disconnected than ever. Sharon Delaney McCloud has built an entire career around closing that gap.
As an Emmy Award-winning TV journalist, Sharon spent two decades helping communities understand each other through story. Today, as a Certified Speaking Professional, CSP® and creator of The Connection Economy, she helps leaders and teams turn relational capital into their greatest competitive advantage through her signature framework.
Sharon's insights have been featured in notable publications such as Thrive Global and Enterprising Women, and she co-authored the book Keep Going: Memoirs of Strength, Courage & Perseverance. Her extensive portfolio includes collaborations with industry leaders and institutions such as Cisco, Lenovo, Red Hat, Eaton, UNC Health, Duke University, 7-Eleven, Amazon, IBM, Eaton, Hilton Hotels, Delta Air Lines, Hitachi Energy, NC State University, and her alma mater, Florida State University.
Prior to founding her consultancy, Sharon’s career included global outreach with the Department of Defense’s USO Program, where she supported American troops stationed abroad. Her domestic career as a television journalist spanned two decades, during which she covered a wide array of topics, including NASA, healthcare, and major cultural events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics, where she had the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch.
As a Mom of three, Sharon considers that her most important role as she attempts to keep all the balls in the air in our fast-paced lives.
