Every leader has a story. Abbas Alimorad’s began with displacement.
Arriving in Canada as a refugee, Abbas faced the challenges of rebuilding his life in a new country while navigating a new language, culture, and identity. Rather than allowing adversity to define his future, he transformed those experiences into a lifelong commitment to leadership, service, and empowering others.
Today, Abbas is an author, senior executive, educator, and strategic advisor with more than 20 years of experience leading organizational transformation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across public, private, and international sectors. He is the author of From Displacement to Leadership: How Adversity Shapes Extraordinary Leaders, a book that explores how resilience, perseverance, and purpose can turn challenges into opportunities for growth and impact.
As Founder and CEO of JHMJ Consulting Ltd. and Stratenix OÜ, Abbas helps organizations align strategy with execution, build high-performing teams, and achieve meaningful results. He holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Guelph, a Master of Professional Education in Educational Leadership from Western University, and the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. He also teaches at Western University.
A recognized thought leader, Abbas has presented at conferences across North America and internationally and currently serves as President of the PMI Southwestern Ontario Chapter, one of Canada’s largest PMI chapters.
His message is simple: adversity can become opportunity, leadership begins with service, and every person has the power to create lasting impact.
