Josh Robinson is an award-winning keynote speaker, facilitator, and percussionist whose work lives at the intersection of rhythm, resilience, and healing. Guided by his mantra, “Nourishing Inner Peace Through Hitting Things,” he transforms drumming into a powerful tool for emotional processing, human connection, and well-being.
Josh’s journey began in deeply personal ways—growing up with a father battling addiction and discovering the healing power of music while playing at his grandfather’s bedside during his final month of life. That experience became a defining moment, awakening his purpose: to help others find strength, expression, and connection through rhythm.
For more than two decades, Josh has shared this work with thousands of individuals across the country each year. He has worked with oncology patients, grief and bereavement communities, addiction and recovery programs, underserved youth, corporate teams, and healthcare professionals. Across every setting, his approach is intentional, evidence-informed, and deeply human—creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and connected.
Josh serves as the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Thomas Jefferson University, where he has taught a Humanities course to medical students for seven years, helping future physicians cultivate empathy and presence. He also works with medical students at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of California, San Diego.
His honors include the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Excellence in Arts Education, Performing Artist of the Year (Young Audiences NJ & Eastern PA), and the Community Hero Award from The Uplift Center for Grieving Children. He has led experiences for organizations including Google, Johnson & Johnson, and BuzzFeed.
Whether working with patients, clinicians, or teams, Josh creates experiences that remind us: even in the most structured environments, rhythm—and healing—are fundamentally human.
